May and June was a two month buying extravaganza for American Legends.
In the eight week period, we picked over a dozen quality collections. Included in this grand haul were a lot of 122 T3 Turkey Red Cabinets including two Ty Cobb, three Walter Johnson, Christy Mathewson, Tinker, Evers, Chance and many, many more.
Another deal featured 196 T202 Hassan Triple Folders including eleven Ty Cobb cards, six Christy Mathewson and a boat load of other Hall of Famers.
Next up was a lot of almost 80 cards from the early 1900’s. This consisted of T201 Mecca Double Folders, T202 Hassan Triple Folders, T204 Ramly with several of the scarce T.T.T. backs, E97 Briggs Company and a small grouping of boxing cards including some tough ones of Jack Johnson.
Another seller came in with almost 150 PSA Graded cards from 1952 & 1956 Topps, all of them graded as eights.
And one of my favorites was a spectacular collection from a delightful older couple. They had amassed a run of Topps, Bowman, Fleer, Red Man & Kelloggs baseball sets from 1948 to 1987, including many tough regional issues. The condition was superb and some of the great odd ball sets included the 1967 Topps Red Sox Stickers, 1964 Topps Stand-Ups and a super sharp 1959 Fleer Ted Williams Set.

American Legends picked up this gem earlier in the week. It’s a 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth #181 in excellent condition. Ruth, who has four cards in the landmark ’33 Goudey Set, is one of the most collectible baseball players in history.

Look what just landed at American Legends. This 1924 team signed St. Louis Browns baseball which also bears the signature of Hall of Famer Ty Cobb. The ball is dated 6/26/24 which was a day off after the Browns played the Tigers in Detroit.
Besides the Georgia Peach, the official American League baseball contains the signatures of George Sisler, Pat Collins (also a member of the 1927 New York Yankees), Norm McMillan, Dave Danforth, Gene Robertson, Dixie Davis, Jack Tobin, Marty McManus and six others.
The baseball has been authenticated by James Spence.

American Legends is very fortunate to have just acquired five signed Babe Ruth baseballs.
One is single signed and uninscribed. The second is a National League baseball signed with additional players besides the Bambino. The third is a 1934 New York Yankees Team signed baseball which includes Lou Gehrig.
The remaining two are personalized, with one an official American League baseball and the other an Amateur League baseball.

This is part of the large baseball collection we acquired on Thursday. This is a complete set of the 1920 W519-2 Unnumbered Strip Cards. The set contains Babe Ruth, Eddie Collins, Eddie Cicotte, Rube Marquard, Frankie Frisch, Joe Murphy, Kid Gleason Ernie Kreuger, Gabby Cravath and Guy Morton. Although the artwork is a little crude, the Ruth card is among the first 20 every issued of the Bambino.
