American Legends is very fortunate to have just acquired five signed Babe Ruth baseballs.
One is single signed and uninscribed. The second is a National League baseball signed with additional players besides the Bambino. The third is a 1934 New York Yankees Team signed baseball which includes Lou Gehrig.
The remaining two are personalized, with one an official American League baseball and the other an Amateur League baseball.

This was a fabulous week for buying at American Legends. This week we acquired almost 200 N172 Old Judge tobacco cards from 1887, over 60 N29 Allen & Ginter cards from 1888 including Cap Anson, a batch of 1933, 1934 and 1935 Goudey Baseball cards including Babe Ruth, and Lou Gehrig, a complete 1941 Play Ball set, a near set of the W551 Strip Cards featuring Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb and Walter Johnson and last but not least a 1986 Fleer Michael Jordan rookie card graded PSA 8.

Another highlight of this week’s purchases would have to be this four card grouping.
Included are the 1951 Bowman Willie Mays Rookie Card, 1952 Topps Willie Mays Rookie Card, 1948 Leaf Babe Ruth and 1951 Bowman Whitey Ford Rookie Card.
Three of the greatest players in New York baseball history.

This is part of the large baseball collection we acquired on Thursday. This is a complete set of the 1920 W519-2 Unnumbered Strip Cards. The set contains Babe Ruth, Eddie Collins, Eddie Cicotte, Rube Marquard, Frankie Frisch, Joe Murphy, Kid Gleason Ernie Kreuger, Gabby Cravath and Guy Morton. Although the artwork is a little crude, the Ruth card is among the first 20 every issued of the Bambino.

The last 24 hours has been a buying bonanza for American Legends with the purchase of three great deals. First our travels took us to eastern Pennsylvania for two terrific finds. The first consisted of 80 T206 and T205 cards along with a bevy of 1909 and 1910 non-sport. The lot featured over forty of the Polar Bear T206 backs including the ultra rare Ray Demmitt St. Louis variation as well as a Ty Cobb red background and a Christy Mathewson Sweet Caporal pin. The non-sports cards included Murad, Recruit Flags of All Nations and over 100 Finest or Bravest Tobacco cards of women.
Deal #2 was the nicest of the three in terms of condition. The more than 50 T206 cards, were for the most part, in VG/EX to EX with a very nice Cy Young. The ten T202 Hassan Triple Folders in the collection also had nice eye appeal with the highlight being Christy Mathewson. While the baseball cards were nice, the condition of the 750 non-sport cards was phenomenal; including mid to high grade T53 Hassan Cigarettes Cowboy Series, 1909 T51 Murad Cigarettes College Series, Hassan Cigarettes Indian Life In The 60′s, Hassan The World’s Greatest Explorers Flags, 1910 T42 Mecca Bird Series Gold Borders (too bad these weren’t T205’s) and many more. For good measure, the collection also contained about a thousand 50’s and 60’s cards.
When we arrived back from Pennsylvania, we were greeted at the front door with a gorgeous collection of 1909 E254 Colgan’s Chips Stars of the Diamond. These attractive black and white paper discs contained a super sharp Honus Wagner and Ty Cobb along with another 80 chips (mostly high grade) including Cy Young, Tris Speaker and Joe Tinker.

Today, we picked up two beautiful lots of vintage cards. The first consisted of some gorgeous 1935 Diamond Stars including Pie Traynor, Lloyd Waner, Bucky Harris, Schoolboy Rowe and 3 Frank Crosetti cards. Mixed in the lot were five different 1938 Goudey Big League Baseball Movie flips including Bob Feller.
The second collection was small in quantity but high in quality; six T206 Sweet Caporal Hall of Famers; Christy Mathewson, Walter Johnson, Napoleon Lajoie (2), John McGraw and Rube Marquard.

At American Legends, we believe in a well-rounded collection. To prove it, we just purchased a complete run of New York Mets Yearbooks from the inaugural 1962 edition through 2010 as well as the 1969 and 1973 World Series Programs and 1969 National League Championship Program.
Yankee fans should feel left out; we also picked up a run of Yankee Yearbooks from 1950 through 2010 along with the 1963 World Series Program and 1960 All Star Program from Yankee Stadium.

These bad boys just walked in to the store and are now ours.
Three identical Uncut Sheets of 1961 Topps Baseball Cards. The sheets which have wear along the edges but are clean in the center, feature Hall of Famers Willie Mays, Eddie Mathews, Whitey Ford and the rookie card of Billy Williams. Interesting to see that the Mathews and Williams cards are double printed on the sheet.
A nice pickup for American Legends
